Press Release Smart Software Receives Two Industry Awards
Smart Chosen for Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 and Inbound Logistics' ILT 100
Belmont, Mass., August 3, 2005 -- Smart Software,
Inc., provider of industry-leading demand forecasting, planning, and inventory
optimization solutions, today announced that it was recently chosen by Supply
& Demand Chain Executive Magazine as one of the Supply and Demand Chain
Executive 100, and Inbound Logistics Magazine as one of the "ILT 100," the top
100 inbound logistics technology providers.
Smart's entry for the Supply & Demand Chain Executive competition
highlighted a recent case study of a customer, a U.S. division of a $6.3 billion
dollar Swedish multi-national that is a leader in the automotive aftermarket.
The customer used Smart Software's flagship product, SmartForecasts Enterprise,
to reduce inventory more than $1 million during the first six months following
implementation and solve a significant backlog in its warehouse packaging and
distribution operations, while at the same time consistently achieving targeted
95% service levels.
According to Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the "goal with this year's
'100' was to highlight a broad range of applications of technology and services
to the challenges of supply chain improvement and transformation. The judging
committee particularly sought innovative solutions that represent supply chain
challenges at a variety of different types of companies."
Inbound Logistics editors selected this year's Top 100 Logistics IT Providers
from more than 500 companies, using questionnaires and personal interviews.
According to the editors, the companies chosen reflect customer needs for
simplicity, high ROI performance, efficient implementation, and an emphasis on
best-of-breed solutions for some customers and end-to-end, all-encompassing
solutions for others.
"The much appreciated recognition we've received from these two industry
magazines affirms that SmartForecasts is delivering superior results for our
customers," said Charles Smart, president of Smart Software. "The automotive
aftermarket case study we submitted is an excellent example of what committed
companies and their management can do with SmartForecasts. Our goal is to help
all of our customers achieve exceptional results by improving their forecasting,
demand planning, and inventory management."
